If you're like us, your pets have become family members. When you can't be home for them, whether because of work, vacation or other obligations, you want them taken care of with the same love and attention you give them. That's exactly what we do at Petopia. Because we love pets!
Petopia offers a multitude of services for a variety of pets. We can also handle various home services which, by making it appear that your house is occupied, can be a crime deterrent. Choose the schedule and services you want, and we'll do the rest.
Reasons to use a pet sitter:
There are many reasons for choosing a pet sitter. The number one reason though is your pets stay in the comfort of their own home, in their familiar surroundings. Other reasons are:
• Your pet experiences less stress - no other animals, no parade of strangers, no strange noises, smells, etc.
• No trips to or from a kennel.
• They are kept on their regular routine.
• They don't need to have any special shots.
• Your pet is not caged (unless your pet is crate trained to begin with).
• They are not exposed to other animals who may be sick.
• You don't have to impose on friends, neighbors, or family to care for your pet.
• Pets at home are a crime deterrent.
• We bring in the mail, water plants/lawn, and keep an eye on your home.
• Your pet receives one on one care, pampering, love, and attention while you are away.
FAQ-Pet Sitting
How do I set up pet sitting with you?
You can call us at 815-281-1077 or email us at melissa@petopiapets.com or contact us via this website to request service or more information. We will then schedule a Meet & Greet with you which gives you the chance to meet us and to ask any questions you may have. It also allows us to get to know the personalities and routines of your pets. You will provide us with 2 keys at this time and fill out the necessary forms to help us better care for your pets and home. (First meet and greet is at no charge, additional meet and greets if requested by you or if you are a "no show" for the scheduled meet & greet, requiring us to come back at another time are $15 each)
Are you able to hold keys on file for when I travel in the future?
We encourage you to leave a key on file with us. This allows you to schedule visits with ease, and we can also be available to care for your pets in the event of an emergency or upon short notice. All keys are kept secure and are numbered with a
code that will not identify your address or name. Key pick up or drop off is $15 (no charge for key pick-up during an initial consultation visit).
Do you do overnights?
Yes, we would be happy to stay in your home overnight with your pet(s). We will arrive between 7 and 9 p.m and stay until around 7 -9 a.m. the next morning. This is great for pets that are used to always having someone there at night, it will help them to feel calm and comfortable.
Do I pay before I leave or after I get back?
Either is fine, some clients pay at the meet and greet or leave payment for their pet sitter on the counter before they leave. If payment is not provided at one of those times we will leave a reminder for you that payment is due.
What are your rates?
Visits are $17 per vist and overnights are $55 - We do NOT charge extra for more than one or two dogs!
Do you pet sit on Holidays?
Yes, we are available 365 days a year for you and your animals.
